Shipping Policies

Upon arrival, put product in freezer immediately! Niftyfare Handcakes are not intended to be kept at room temperature, nor should they be thawed before being prepared for serving.

All orders will be shipped on Monday or Tuesday or to ensure that they are not held at a shipping facility over a weekend. I will be as prompt in shipping as possible, please allow at least 3 days for processing prior to shipping date. Any orders received on Tuesdays after 8am PST will be shipped the following week.

If I am out of stock of an item you have ordered, we will contact you by e-mail to see if you want to delay shipment of entire package or just have out-of-stock item shipped at a later date.

All products will be shipped with dry ice and other insulated packaging to ensure maximum freshness and there will be a $9.00 standard packaging fee added to each shipment (my cost is currently $5 dry ice, $1 gel ice, $3 reusable styrofoam cooler and box). Each shipment will consist of a maximum of 6 products per package. If you order more than 6 products, there will be an additional packaging fee added to your order. At this time, I am shipping all packages through UPS 2nd Day Air, this page will take you to the rate page. Yes, it is expensive!!! It’s frozen, weighs 10 lbs for 4 boxes and the boxes are 12 x 15 x 9. If you are in the Portland area, please contact me about drop-off locations to avoid excessive shipping charges. I am unable to ship outside of the United States of America; this includes APO/FPO addresses (sorry!). If you are interested in expedited shipping options, please e-mail me prior to placing your order.

I will not ship to PO Boxes, as I cannot replace items left at your box too long that have become inedible.

Handcakes will NOT be safe to consume if they have completely defrosted prior to toasting/heating – they have been cooked but will not taste their best. Two flavors do contain cooked egg, which absolutely needs to stay frozen. Delivery confirmation is included on all shipping–if your package has arrived in timely fashion and has still defrosted, please contact me to arrange replacement (and so that I can contact UPS to find out where things went awry!)

All packaging materials (including boxes and packing material) are reusable or recyclable. I strive to make sure Niftyfare is not damaging our earth, so please reuse all packaging materials.

Carbon offset for shipping is available for an small additional fee, please look for that option on the UPS shipment page.

I accept all major credit cards for payment through Paypal, shopping cart will follow soon. Please do not send cash or check without prior written approval.

Due to the nature of the product, I am unable to accept returns. If there is an error in shipping or in the items you receive, please contact me and it will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Please be sure that the address you provide is correct. Incorrect shipping addresses result in delayed or returned deliveries, and unfortunately, the product expires. If you do not receive a package or I receive a returned shipment due to incorrect shipping information and you request another package sent, you will be charged accordingly.
